T&Cs for Secret Creek:
TERMS OF HIRE
When accepting special function bookings for Secret Creek Café and Restaurant (SCC) and/or Secret Creek Sanctuary (SCS), either SCC or SCS reserves the right to assess the suitability of the proposed function to the buildings, the surrounding wildlife sanctuary and its delicate environment. As a home for highly endangered native wildlife species, the venue asks that you recognize the significance of the space for conservation purposes and asks that you strictly abide by the established hiring conditions that have been designed to protect the inhabitants of the sanctuary, the fabric of the buildings and surrounding ecosystem.
HIRING CHARGES
The Hirer will pay to SCC all the amounts specified in the attached Venue Hire Booking Form (VHBF). The Hirer acknowledges that they are aware of all hiring fees and charges for other services and facilities associated with the hiring of SCC and SCS.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE
The Hirer will pay to SCC a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total fee within 14 days of accepting a quote in order to secure a booking. A quote will remain valid for 14 days from date of issue and SCC reserves the right to adjust a quote that has not been approved within this time. A booking will not be confirmed until a deposit is paid. 50% of the total fee will be paid to SCC no less than 30 days before the event. The balance of the total venue hire fee and all other charges (incl. GST) must be paid to SCC no less than seven days before the date of the event. SCC reserves the right to charge a 10% surcharge if such payment is not received by the due date. Provided that these payment requirements are met, the hirer may make payments in any increments over any time leading up to the event.
CANCELLATION
If the Hirer cancels a booking after the deposit has been paid, the deposit amount will be retained as a cancellation fee. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the event, a further 20% may be retained. If the booking is cancelled within seven days of the event and after full payment has been made, then the full amount is forfeited. Very extreme circumstances or misadventure beyond the control of the Hirer may result in some exibility in regards to refunds. This is at the discretion of SCC and only if informed in writing with evidence where appropriate.
INSURANCE
All events held at SCC and SCS are covered by our Public Liability Insurance Policy where the incident is a direct result of the venue fixtures and fittings. However, SCC staff are not liable for:
The responsible service of alcohol to guests. Alcohol is supplied by the Hirer at their own discretion and risk.
Any anti-social behaviour of guests who may be intoxicated or under the inuence of drugs
Faults or accidents that result from the provision, placement or operation of equipment supplied by the Hirer
INDEMNITY
The Hirer, by signing this form, hereby indemnies SCC and SCS and any of it’s employees, representatives, committees or volunteers in relation to any part of its property against all claims for which SCC and/or SCS become liable in respect of loss, damage or accident or injury to property or person caused or contributed to by the function or any act or failure to act by the Hirer, its staff or subcontractors or the Hirer’s failure to comply with its obligation under these conditions.
CLEARING OF ITEMS
The Hirer shall remove all items that they bring into SCC and/or SCS which are used for the event at the time and date arranged with staff. SCC reserves the right to designate a strict time frame for pick up of items. No responsibility is taken by SCC for the loss or damage of items brought into the venue for an event.
DECORATIONS
The Venue Manager retains the right to request the removal of any object that may damage the fabric of the building, the sanctuary grounds or present a danger to the animals in the sanctuary. SCC and SCS does not allow confetti, rice or glitter on the property. Flower petals and/or bubbles are allowed.
CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE ANIMALS
No companion animals are permitted into the sanctuary grounds at any time. No guests are to interfere with the animals that inhabit the sanctuary. No guests are permitted to feed the animals. The Venue Manager reserves the right to instruct guests to adjust their behaviour if it is in the interest of the sanctuary animals for them to do so. No guests are permitted to enter closed buildings or pass through closed gates unattended.
SMOKING
No smoking is permitted in any buildings and butts must be placed in bins and removed.
MARQUEES
The Venue Manager reserves the right to direct where and when marquees may be erected within the property grounds.
STAFF
It is a condition of hire that SCC and/or SCS staff be present at functions, at all times. The Hirer must comply with staff directions.
CATERING
SCC takes all care and consideration to ensure that food allergies are catered for, however there remains some risk of cross contamination. Guests with anaphylaxis or other severe food intolerances should take all due care to properly inform staff of their allergy and take due care and responsibility for the management of their own risk. SCC is a vegan venue, so no animal products will be prepared on site under any circumstances.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
SCC and/or SCS reserves the right to impose further special conditions to the event booking.
T+Cs For VWE:
1. TERMS OF BOOKING
The hirer acknowledges that they are hiring Lover Come Home Pty Ltd, trading as Vegan Weddings and Events, ABN: 38647311895 (VWE) for catering and any other agreed upon services of an event that is to be held offsite. Food may be prepared in advance at our commercial kitchen and delivered under appropriate conditions to the venue, or may be prepared at the site of the venue. Specific details of food preparation, storage, delivery and service will be at the discretion of VWE and can be discussed with the hirer before the event. VWE should be given all information relevant to the event venue and any access required.
2. HIRING CHARGES
The Hirer will pay to VWE all the amounts agreed to in this proposal.The Hirer acknowledges that they are aware of all fees and charges for other services and facilities associated with the booking of VWE’s catering and other services.
Although we can work in basically any space, we will need to charge an additional equipment fee of $200 if your kitchen or food service space DOESN'T have the following;
Oven (domestic size is fine)
Stove Top
Bench space
Sink and access to water Access to power
Anything that is available above these bare necessities is wonderful.

Provided that these payment requirements are met, the hirer may make payments in any increments over any time leading up to the event.
If the guest numbers or any other details change before the final payment is due, final payment may be adjusted to reflect this.
4. CANCELLATION
If the Hirer cancels a booking after the deposit has been paid, the deposit amount will be retained as a cancellation fee. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the event, a further 20% may be retained. If the booking is cancelled within seven days of the event and after full payment has been made, then the full amount is forfeited.
Very extreme circumstances or misadventure beyond the control of the Hirer may result in some flexibility in regards to refunds. This is at the discretion of VWE and only if informed in writing with evidence where appropriate.
5. POSTPONEMENT
In cases where the hirer wishes to postpone the event, there will be a date transfer fee of $500 to move the event to a new date. There will be no refunds, but all monies paid up until that date will be transferred to the new agreed upon date. If agreement on a new date cannot be reached with the hirer and other vendors, and the hirer wishes instead to cancel, the cancellation conditions above will be imposed. In the case of postponement due to government imposed restrictions of any kind, the date transfer fee will be waived.
6. INDEMNITY
The Hirer, by signing this form, hereby indemnifies VWE and any of it’s employees, representatives, committees or volunteers in relation to any part of its property against all claims for which VWE becomes liable in respect of loss, damage or accident or injury to property or person caused or contributed to by the function or any act or failure to act by the Hirer, its staff or subcontractors or the Hirer’s failure to comply with its obligation under these conditions.
7. CATERING

Guests with anaphylaxis or other severe food intolerances should take all due care to properly inform staff of their allergy and take due care and responsibility for the management of their own risk. VWE is a vegan caterer, so no animal products will be prepared on site under any circumstances. We accept that in circumstances where a variety of food is being served at a venue that is not owned by us, that, at the discretion of the hirer, non vegan products may be served to guests. In this circumstance, VWE will not be responsible for the preparation or presentation of these products in any way.
8. SPECIAL CONDITIONS
VWE reserves the right to impose further special conditions to the event booking.
